Since the last day of my work in the previous company, I will be going out on my own for the first time today!I am thrilled! It’s been a long time, since I went out on a weekday and alone! It’s my ME time!!
Started the day with some house hold chores and quickly packed my things and ass out of the house as I was already running late to meet up with Jas! Meet up with her at her workplace to pass her the birthday cake that I made for Li!
Then I was hungry! Hungry for food. Moved on to Maxwell Food Centre for some yummy food. And there, I found the yummy, Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice. It cost $7.50 for a plate of chicken rice with vegetable in oyster sauce. Expensive! But is really delicious and the chicken meat is really moist, though I wouldn’t make an effort to travel there to eat this.
My yummy lunch moment was disrupted by a group of Chinese people who decided to share the table with me whom they have no manners! Finished the last piece chicken meat and quickly made my way out of that no manners table.
Next, since the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple (佛牙寺) is just opposite the Maxwell Food Centre, decided to make a trip there since I have not been to this place before. Walked around the first floor and prayed for the well being of my family and friends.
To be honest, the temple didn’t leave much of an impression to me except for the architecture and the crafting of the Buddha statues are really impressive.
After the short visit at the temple, made by way to the Chinatown MRT through the vibrant Chinatown Street Market.
Along the way in the street market, I can see that there are lots of “菜头” (i.e. Someone who overpays for something or something that is not worth.) waiting to be “chopped” by the stall owners!
Then I saw a crowd of “ang mos” standing by a sugar cane stall, taking photographs of the uncle making the sugar cane drink by putting the sugar cane to be crushed by the sugar cane machine. It was an interesting sight to see foreigners taking photographs of something that is so common in our everyday life.
Finally, after the strolling and sightseeing at the Chinatown Street Market, I took the train to Dhoby Ghaut MRT and head toPlaza Singapura. Lazed in the coffee house while waiting to meet up with Li for shopping!
When Li arrived, we went on our shopping spree! From Daiso to Crumpler to Watson, to many many others! Haha.. basically we spent and splurged!
In the evening, we finally met up with Jas for dinner! Ta-da! Our dinner @ Tsukada Nojo.
The soup base is very tasty and the ingredients are really fresh! This is the 3rd time I am here! Oh yah, they have a very interesting marketing concept here. Promotion! Depending on the number of visits to the store within a period of time, each person will be “promoted” to the next designation! Haha, for each promotion, there will be a small reward. Such as my recent promotion from “Assistant Manager” to “Manager”, I have gotten myself a plate of fries which I just realised that we didn’t received it last night! Haha..
At the end of the yummy meal, they usually do something like this! Which always end with a smile on my face! Haha. Is just so cute and sweet!
Not to forget the highlight of the night! Belated birthday celebration for Li! The restaurant played the birthday song music and sang her the birthday song! Can see that she is really surprised and embarrassed about it! The facial expression on Li and Jas was priceless! Keke.
I have made a Old Fashion Chocolate Cake this time for Li. Is not really nice. I really need to beef up my baking skills! Thanks for Li and Jas for swallowing up. Haha..
After the happy meal, we went for some light shopping before heading back to our home sweet home!
Back home, with the mighty strength from hubby, finally opened up the little gift from Jas! Improvised Fortune Cookies made by her with the fortune written by her!
Totally love the thoughtful fortune for me! The cookie was so yummy that I asked for the recipe! Haha!
My busy day ended lovely and happy! =D
